When the Tingle Becomes a Chill was released in February 1976 and peaked at No. 6. Loretta's latest album had two singles: the title track reached No. 2 and the second, "Red, White and blue", written by Loretta, broke into the Top 20. The album was regarded as one of her best releases of the '70s.
